We then went to see Amy Miller in the Beth Sholom production of Once upon a Mattress. It was a fun evening watching this adaption of the Princess and the Pea fairytale. The play was done in the round to make the most of the small auditorium. There was a full compliment of musicians to provide the score. And the players did a great job of bringing the story to life. Amy was the princess Fred, the lead princess in the play. She did a great job with the part. She had the quality of suspension of disbelief. Which is to say that she drew you into the part she was playing. Saul said playing a princess was not much of a stretch for her.
