Prepping for hot weather
Weather tomorrow is forecast to be high in the triple digits. Temps will stay for the rest of the week. As nasty hot as it is now it will seem refreshing later on in the week. What a cheery thought! Looking forward to going to the boat this weekend to cool off. Just have to make sure the plants are watered.

Sunset at the boat
We went to the boat this weekend. It was VERY hot and humid. We did not sail but just went to Swan Creek. The prop on the boat was fouled with barnicales and it was hard to manuver. I jumped into the creek after we anchored and scraped the stuff off the prop. We then went back to the marina for the evening and swam in the pool. Sunset at the marina was beautiful. Thank God for air conditioning! We set up the suit case air conditioner and slept in comfort.

Diner
Took mom to the Country Club diner. It's a nice little diner where it's always busy. Earlier this week we heard a interview with Mickey Spillane who wrote the Mike Hammer dectective series. He said that he had Mike Hammer eat at diners because he could not spell restaurant!

Went down to the boat.....
Storms let up and we went to the boat today. We made a good call as all who stayed down in Spring Cove were bounced around by the storms last night.
I needed to drop off a sail cover on the boat as it will be getting some work this week. Installation of lazy jacks, control lines lead back to the cockpit and a new VHF antenna. The cover has to be modified to work with the lazy jacks.

Weekend Preview
cirque de soleil
What can I say! This is always a great show! The QUIDAM show is spectacular. The clowns are funny, the acrobats are amazing, jugglers are memesmerizing, the dancing, the tumbling, the skipping rope. Yes, even something simple as skipping rope is transformed into something fascinating! The story seems to revolve around a little girl, a headless man, a clown and a hat. The story is a bit impenetrable but the show is fun nonetheless.
Dinner
We went for dinner at the place that was Joe Poon's. It was a very nice Chinese and sushi bar.
Dinner was really good. But the funny thing was the guys behind the sushi bar were watching Alton Brown on the Food Channel making wontons!

Looks like the power is still out at home. A fridge cleaning will be in order when we get home.
Kill-the-penny bill introduced
Do they think that killing the penny is really a good use of their time. With all that is going on in the world now. Besides what would I do with my penny jar!

Marilyn's car
Marilyn's bumper is seperated. Have to call insurance & body shop. It could be a $30 job of putting clipping it back or a $3000 job with a new bumper cover.

Motorcycle died in the driveway. Like turning a switch off. Tim from next door helped me push it back into place. Will look at it tonight after a haircut.

Picture of Birds....
Here is the picture of the kildeer in the SEPTA parking lot. Look to the left of the bird you can just make out the eggs in the nest
Birds....
Saw a baby mourning dove this morning outside the front door. And as I parked at the train station a killdeer was squawking at me! It was protecting a nest that had four eggs in it. I’ll take a phone shot of it as I go home today.

July 4 Recap
Marj & Roy came down to Rock Hall. We had a blast. Started on Friday night, this made the weekend longer. We got out early onto the bay. Winds were great at 15 knots from the south. We sailed west and the boat worked out great. The sail twist and traveler method worked like a charm. Not to much heeling and in control. Went to Tolchester on Sunday. The debris from the flooding was unbelievable. The breakwater they had down there was totaly clogged. No boats in or out. We enjoyed cooling off at the pool until the "doodie" incident. On Monday Marilyn and I went to Anapolis to see a double feature, Over the Hedge and Cars. The Rock Hall fireworks were spectacular as always, as was the annual Spring Cove tooting of the horns. We packed up and went home Tuesday the 4th and stopped at the roadside nursery to pickup spike plants and corn on the cob. We left no 4th of July tradition undone!
